About the event

We are thrilled to welcome Larry Shaffer, owner and winemaker of tercero wines in Santa Barbara County, for our first winemaker dinner! After working in sales, marketing, and publishing, Larry decided to pivot. He took on the challenge of learning the science behind winemaking and completed a master's in viticulture and enology from UC Davis. He spent nearly a decade making wine at Fess Parker Winery before branching out on his own. tercero wines concentrates on small lot, hand crafted wines using grapes exclusively from leading Santa Barbara County vineyards and works with grapes from nearly every AVA within the county.

$100 per person includes a 5-course menu with tercero wines paired with each course. Please note that the $130 price at checkout is all-inclusive of taxes, gratuity, and system fees. Wine Club and Kula Members - be sure you're signed in to get 10% off your seat! Join us for our first course reception at 5:30pm, seated by 6pm.

Chef Coral Strong of Garden Kitchen will be back with a special dinner celebrating the season's bounty, featuring hyperlocal produce and sustainably raised meats. Dietary restrictions can be accommodated - please notify us during the checkout process.

  • Fig Leaf whipped goat cheese, passionfruit curd, pickled nasturtium (2020 Clairette Blanche)
  • Spring Roll cucumber, nuoc cham charred carrot, pickled ginger, mint, micro cilantro, lemongrass dipping sauce, lime squeeze (2021 Malvasia Bianca)
  • Strawberry Ricotta tender greens, grilled zucchini, summer strawberry, lemon ricotta, spiced pistachio, pickled onion, tomatillo jam vinaigrette & agave balsamic, optional U10 Jumbo Wild Shrimp Duo (2020 Nouveau “Carbonic” Cinsault)
  • Duck Marbella bone in duck confit, oregano, medjool, olive medley, citrus & stone fruit, root vegetables, crusty baguette, herb butter, optional A5 Wagyu Filet Mignon per oz (2020 Cinsault)
  • Chocolate ganache pot de creme, berry whip, candied orange peel (2015 Mourvèdre)

Non-drinkers and beer-drinkers - we can substitute other drinks in lieu of the wine pairings, please notify us during the checkout process.

Please be sure to purchase a seat for each individual in your party. If your party will be purchasing their seats separately, please let us know the names of everyone else in your party so that we can seat you together.
